From the first discussion to ongoing support

A shared process, adapted to whether you are starting out, changing accountants or organising ongoing support.

Tasks, timetables and resources depend on the service agreed. Initial preparation and ongoing support each have their own scope.

  1. 1. Tell us about your business

Tell us what your business does, its current stage and the support you need. You can mention an existing accountant or headquarters abroad. You do not need to have every reporting requirement defined before contacting us.

  2. 2. Define your support

We set out the services, fees and terms in a proposal. We agree each party’s tasks, points of contact and communication channels in English or Portuguese.

  3. 3. Prepare to start or switch

We identify the documents needed and explain how to share them through the agreed channels. If you already receive support, we prepare the information handover and coordinate responsibilities.

  4. 4. Build the working routine

For ongoing support, we organise information, carry out the agreed tasks and flag what is needed to move the work forward. You provide the necessary documents and confirm the matters that require your input.

  5. 5. Interpret the information and review your needs

We help you understand the information and clarify questions within the agreed support. If your business or needs change, we assess the implications with you and agree any adjustments to the support. When a question needs further analysis, we identify the work involved and its scope.

Who handles what in the working routine

Working together depends on clear contributions from both sides. Our team organises and carries out the agreed work. You provide information, respond to requests and take responsibility for the decisions and payments that fall to you.

How the process adapts to your situation

Preparing to start an activity or looking for individual tax support? Explore our services to find the right starting point.

  • If you are changing accountant

We review the periods covered, work in progress, available documents and outstanding matters. We agree the information handover, any reconciliations and the start of support with those involved. The timetable depends on these factors.

  • If your group headquarters are abroad

We agree reporting formats, language and dates, who provides and validates each item, and any reconciliations needed. Requirements and coordination with group systems are assessed for the Portuguese operation.

Tools to organise documents, dates and communication

TeamPartner’s resources help organise information and support your working relationship with our team. Your proposal identifies which resources apply to your support.

  • See what is missing and bring documents together

Control360 brings missing documents, requests for clarification and, where applicable to the engagement, information on VAT payable or recoverable for the period into a monthly report. Deskless Docs supports digital archiving, while TeamBox helps share tax payment documents and other records.

  • Prepare for obligations and clarify information

Alerts365 flags tax obligations and payments. TeamAdvisor provides a point of contact to clarify questions and help you understand information within the agreed support.

  • Coordinate information with headquarters

The Global Accounting Framework is TeamPartner’s approach to connecting Portuguese accounting with group reporting, with agreed formats, language, dates and responsibilities.

  • Add financial and administrative support

FinDesk is an additional service, defined in a proposal, which may include billing and payment management. Tasks and the authorisations needed are agreed for that service.

Questions about working with TeamPartner

Is the first meeting free, and what does it cover?

Yes. TeamPartner offers a free, no-obligation 30-minute initial meeting, by appointment and subject to availability. It helps us understand your situation and identify suitable support. Any detailed technical analysis is agreed within the relevant service or a tailored proposal.

Can we work with TeamPartner from another country?

Yes. Communication and information sharing can take place remotely, through the agreed channels. Some specific procedures may require attendance, identification or the involvement of other parties. We assess those requirements according to your situation and the service.

What happens if documents or clarifications are missing?

TeamPartner organises the information received and flags anything that needs clarification or additional documents. You provide the documents and respond to requests. Where applicable, the monthly Control360 report brings together missing documents and the questions that need your response.

Does the same process apply to Portugal All Aboard and TaxCare 365?

Both services begin by understanding your situation and defining responsibilities, but each has its own scope. Portugal All Aboard supports initial preparation for entering Portugal. TaxCare 365 addresses individual tax needs. Initial preparation does not automatically include ongoing support.
